A Forest
I can’t reach you
The lines are down
And you’re so far away
And I am in a forest
I still don’t understand
The lay of the land
These maps are like a foreign language
And I’m a tourist
I can’t hear you
The noise in my head
Is drowning out your words
Like a million birds
I rip my skin on the rambling briar
I am held within the deep mire
Wading
So low
I can’t see you
The branches
Are keeping me behind
In this state of mind
